Both pictures ware taken during 1080p video recoring on the 5DII, however it seems that although tv and 500 sec were chosen, pictures taken during video are auto, and both of these ended up with 1/125 sec!

Not had time yet to do any serious linesiding, however here are a couple from a pass of Ely station in the dark. All shots hand held and using the 24-105 IS lens. These are straight from the camera JPEGs, will try the RAW soon. Click again to download the full resolution image.
13th Dec 2008EOD 5D MkII first shots, non railway. (6 images)
Finally received my long awaited 5D MkII. Been very busy this week but managed to test some of its low light capabilities. All images were JPEG straight off the camera and not worked upon. Will need to start using RAW soon. As you will see its low light performance is amazing. Want to see the full image? Then click again and it will download the full and original camera file.

    22nd Nov 2008Phoenix RPC Autumn Social 2008 (43 images)
This year the Phoenix Railway Photographic Circle’s Social was planned for North Lincolnshire. It was a completely fantastic day all round, we had an early start catching the sunrise at Claypole. Then moving on to Barnetby for an official organized visit to Wrawby and East Barnetby boxes, after some very tasty fish and chips from Barnetby chippy we moved on to Scunthorpe for a private brake van charter around the steel works. In the evening we finished off with some good ale and a slide show from members at the Salutation in Doncaster. Great thanks are due to Dafydd and Bob for arranging such a fantastic day out.

A great turnout with over 1/2 the membership present, plus a superb meal at the end of the day in "The Lobster".

    News and Updates
Some frosty morning shots added, more to come later when I get a moment. Also one extra 3/4 photo to print! 30/12/2008

A few shots added, all taken in low light; Happy Christmas! 24/12/2008

The 5D2 offers 1080p recording, with the ability to shoot a full res still at any time. However it seems that one is not in full control of the still image, so a compromise..... A useful feature, hmmmm? 20/12/2008

After over 4 years my 20D has finally been superseded by the arrival of a EOS 5D MkII, first pictures uploaded. 13/12/2008 at their full unmolested resolution.

Want to print some off? Have set up a new gallery for 3/4 shots at high res, will add more over time. 04/12/2008

Well with all this winter cold here in the UK I thought that I would put up some of my old shots from when winters were colder! Also a few more old scans added to "Old Shots Real Film" All the best... Martyn 03/12/2008
    About Me
I enjoy railway photography and most of all the challenge of producing something different from the norm. I am proud to be a member of both the Phoenix Railway Photographic Circle and the Railway Photographic Circle. Both have traveling folios where members can comment on other members work. Indeed both circles encourage the production of only progressive and artistic styles within the folios. If you are interested please get in touch to register your interest, vacancies become available from time to time.

All digital pictures prior to December 10th 2008 were taken on an EOS 20D. Now using a 5D MkII
